Thach Dong Cave is a majestic 91-meter-high limestone mountain in My Duc commune. This site combines the natural beauty of stalactite labyrinths, a spiritual heritage with an 18th-century pagoda, and deep historical layers associated with both ancient legends and tragic events of the recent past.

What to know
The cave is located 4 km from the city of Ha Tien. The path to it begins after climbing 50 stone steps. Tien Son Pagoda, built here in 1790, is dedicated to the Buddha and the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Previously, a monastery of the Taoist monk Huynh Phong stood on this site.
What to see:
- Legendary passages: "Road to Heaven" and "Road to Hell", associated with the myth of the hero Thach Sanh.
- Stalactites: Near the entrance, there is a unique formation shaped like an eagle's wing.
- Memorial: The "Hatred Stele" (Bia Cảm Thù), dedicated to the victims of the 1978 events.
- Nature: Inside the cave, pigeon nests can often be seen, and thanks to the unique acoustics of the passages, unusual wind sounds can be heard inside.
The cave is open for visits at any time; the main routes are equipped with stairs and lighting.
