History and Architecture
The pagoda was built as a meditation place for Mac Cuu's mother, Thai Thai phu nhan. In 1735, the temple was officially recognized as one of the ten most beautiful spots in Ha Tien. In 2004, the site received the status of a provincial-level historical monument.
What to See
- Triple Gate (Phuong Mon): The grand entrance facing east.
- Main Hall (Dien Pho): Houses three images of Amitabha Buddha and a 1.4-meter copper statue of A Di Da Buddha cast by Mac Cuu himself.
- Ancient Walls: Original brick walls used for over 300 years, preserving their unique masonry technique and vibrant color.
- Statues: A 5-meter-tall, 7-ton copper statue of Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara is installed on the grounds, alongside statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, Thousand-Hand Avalokiteshvara, and other deities.
