History
The Mine Action Center in the city of Dong Ha is an essential place for understanding the aftermath of the Vietnam War. The museum highlights the tragic history of the Quang Tri region—which had more bombs dropped on it than any other territory in the country—and demonstrates heroic efforts to clear the land of unexploded ordnance.

What you need to know
The museum was founded by Project RENEW and occupies a 400 m² exhibition space featuring around 1,000 exhibits. The display is divided into six thematic sections:
- War and its Legacy: the history of the destruction of Dong Ha and the Quang Tri Citadel in 1972, along with ordnance samples.
- Post-war Demining: efforts to clear the land.
- Ongoing Work: modern initiatives and education.
- Victim Assistance: rehabilitation and prosthetics.
- Overcoming Tragedy: stories of resilience.
- Agent Orange: the consequences of defoliant use.
Visitors can enjoy a media theater with documentaries, buy souvenirs, or relax at the local café.
The museum is best visited as part of organized tours of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
