Hon Mun Island is a unique natural area located 11 km from the southern port of Nha Trang. Since 2001, the island has held the status of Vietnam's first marine reserve, covering 160 square kilometers of land and water area. This place attracts underwater world enthusiasts with its exceptional water transparency and diverse marine flora and fauna.

What you need to know
Hon Mun Island is a snorkeling paradise where you can see hundreds of species of coral polyps, reef fish, and other marine inhabitants. Despite the fact that in 2022 the authorities introduced restrictions on diving to restore the ecosystem, visits are now possible in a controlled manner.
Main points of interest:
- Snorkeling: the best way to explore the reefs. It is recommended to use a rash guard for protection against the sun and jellyfish.
- Madonna Rock Caves: a deep-water area for experienced divers with arches and passages.
- Mama Hang: an ideal spot for beginner divers (depth up to 14 meters).
- Activities: for those who do not want to dive, glass-bottom boats and sea walks with a helmet are available.
The best time for calm seas and crystal-clear underwater visibility. Peak season is from July to September.
