What you need to know
Mang Thit is not an open-air museum, but a living industrial zone. In the 1980s, over 3,000 kilns operated here; today, about 700-800 remain. The traditional 10-12 meter-high kilns, fired with rice husks, are the main symbol of the region.
Tourists can take a river boat trip along the Co Chien and Mang Thit canals to view the kilns from the water, visit operating terracotta workshops, or capture atmospheric photos at dawn. Nhon Phu is considered the central part of the area, where the highest concentration of kilns has been preserved. Infrastructure here is minimal with no tourist centers, so it is recommended to arrange transportation in advance (taxi or motorbike).
The dry season provides the best conditions for travel and photography. Morning hours until 9:00 AM are the ideal time for shooting thanks to the soft light.
