Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in the capital of Vietnam. In Hanoi, the diplomat had a scheduled meeting with President Tran Dai Quang and Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh. The meeting took place over two days — March 19 and 20.

Prospects for cooperation between Russia and Vietnam were discussed, as well as a number of international issues. During the negotiations, the state representatives answered journalists' questions.

Also during the conversation, the following important topics were discussed:

• discussion of cooperation in economic, scientific, technological, military-technical, and humanitarian fields.
• preparation and planning for holding the cross-years of Russia in Vietnam and Vietnam in Russia in 2019.
