More than 1,000 people took part in the "Immortal Regiment" event organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Hanoi.

After forming up under the command of Russian Navy Captain 1st Rank Roman Boytsov, the group marched through the central district of the city. Participants walked through the territory of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Those wishing to take part included not only Russians, but also representatives of CIS countries and even Vietnamese citizens.

Following the "Immortal Regiment" march, the event continued with a festive musical concert featuring Russian songs. Interestingly, many of the songs were also performed in Vietnamese.

Russian Ambassador Konstantin Vnukov, who was in Hanoi at the time, specifically noted that the event was attended by both descendants of Great Patriotic War veterans and descendants of those who fought for Vietnam's independence. His quote:

"We remember well that it was during the hardest years that our peoples were closer to each other than ever before. This was true in the winter of 1941, when Vietnamese volunteers helped us defend Moscow, and during Vietnam's struggle against foreign aggression, which received immense assistance from the entire Soviet people."

The "Immortal Regiment" event has been organized in the Vietnamese capital for the second consecutive year. In Ho Chi Minh City, where the event was held for the first time this year, about 600 participants gathered.
