The authorities of the capital of Vietnam have decided to resort to a very interesting idea to spread information about the sights of Hanoi by organizing a sporting charity event. The event will include an international marathon with three distances — 10 km, 20 km and 42 km, scheduled for April 19, 2019. Everyone who wants to take part has time to fully prepare for the run.

The cross-country route is specially chosen so that participants cross the most important and interesting sights of the Vietnamese capital. The starting point will be located near the grand opera house, and the finish line will be near the historic Hoan Kiem Lake in the heart of the city.

The head of the tourism department boldly stated that those who think that Hanoi has nothing more interesting than the Temple of Literature and the water puppet theater will get to see the city from a completely new perspective.

This idea is not new globally. Such major and progressive world cities as London, Berlin, and Tokyo have already held similar events featuring marathons, which does Hanoi great honor by standing alongside these cities. The organization of the entire event is undertaken by the Embassy of Denmark, together with Topas Travel. Anyone can take part in the action by registering on the official website of the event.

It is worth noting that participation in the marathon will require a certain monetary contribution from each participant. All funds raised will be transferred to a charitable foundation that deals with reducing child mortality in Southeast Asian countries, as well as the "Operation Smile" organization, which performs lip and palate surgeries in disadvantaged countries.
