Hanoi secured the 12th position in the list of 25 best tourist destinations according to the popular website TripAdvisor.

Travelers who have already visited Hanoi leave reviews on the site about their experiences. It is strongly recommended to visit the Old Quarter with its monuments and colonial architecture. In the same area, there are more modern architectural buildings, such as the Vietnamese Women's Museum, dedicated to the contribution of women to the history and culture of Vietnam and the world.

The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is very popular in Hanoi. Its exhibition tells about 54 ethnic groups living in the country. The museum's collection includes 15,000 exhibits and 42,000 photographs and films.

Interestingly, according to this ranking, Hanoi has been a regular participant for 5 consecutive years, except for 2017, when Hanoi's place was taken by the ancient city in central Vietnam — Hoi An. Looking at Hanoi's ranking position by year: in 2014 it ranked 8th, and in 2015 and 2016 – 10th.

In the list of the best tourist destinations in Asia, Hanoi took 3rd place, second only to Bali (Indonesia) and Phuket (Thailand).

In 2017, the city of Hanoi was visited by more than 4.95 million international guests. Compared to the previous year, the growth rate increased by 23%. Interestingly, according to the American online publication Insider, the capital of Vietnam is among the 13 best spring destinations, taking a respectable 2nd place, second only to Amsterdam.

It is worth adding information about neighboring countries that also made it to the list of the best tourist destinations in the world: Bali, Indonesia is at number 4, Phuket, Thailand at number 11, and Siem Reap, Cambodia at number 13.
