What it is and why

Safari parks of Vietnam are excellent opportunity to see tigers, lions, giraffes and rare tropical birds at distance of extended hand. Unlike classical zoos, here emphasis on large territories, where inhabitants can freely move.

Most popular format — trip on special bus inside closed zone of safari, where predators and ungulates are without cages around you. Besides safari zones, parks often include oceanariums and platforms for feeding animals — delight for children and quality content for adults provided.

Tips

Come to opening (usually 8:30–9:00): animals most active before onset of midday heat.
Always take with you protective cream from sun and headwear: in jeep-tours on safari often many open sections.
Check schedule of shows with animals at entrance — they pass several times per day and can be very spectacular.
Do not try to feed animals with your food: this is forbidden by rules and dangerous for their health.

Caution

In lunch time animals like to hide in shade, therefore safari can seem 'empty'.
Some parks very large — necessarily wear comfortable shoes, as between zones much walking on foot.
