Sightseeing Tours
Getting to know the soul of Vietnam through key points
What it is and why
Sightseeing tours in Vietnam strongly depend on the region. In Hanoi it is walks through the maze of streets of the Old Quarter and French villas, in Hue — studying imperial citadels and emperors mausoleums, and in Hoi An — immersion in the atmosphere of a 17th century trading port. We recommend choosing individual formats or small groups so the guide can pay attention to details rather than just lead through "tourist" points with a crowd of people.
Besides cities, it is worth including iconic panoramic points in the program, such as passes or observation decks of national parks. Often a sightseeing tour is a combination of a walk through the center and a short transfer, allowing to see the contrast between the noisy center and quiet suburbs in one trip.

Tips
- Plan to visit historical centers in early morning: after 10:00 it gets hot and tourist buses appear.
- For visiting temples and mausoleums always cover shoulders and knees — even if it is +30°C outside.
- If taking a sightseeing tour in a metropolis — agree to transfer on motor-taxi ('xe om'), it is 3 times faster than regular car.
- Do not be afraid to deviate from the route: a sightseeing tour is needed to feel out the place for evening return.
Caution
- Beware of self-proclaimed guides near large temples — a professional guide always has a license and accreditation.
- At midday in large cities (Saigon, Hanoi) it is better to move in air-conditioned transport to avoid heat stroke.
