In country actively develops culture of 'glampings' — ready camps with comfortable tents, fires and barbecue. However for real seekers of adventures always remain wild locations. Important to remember, that in Vietnam land almost always belongs to someone, therefore ideal variant — private camping platforms, where there is access to water, toilet and guard.

Tips

  • Always have with you copy of passport — local police can check documents in camping zones.
  • Use repellents with high concentration of DEET, especially if spend night near rice fields or in jungle.
  • Do not put tent in lowlands: even small rain in tropics can turn place of camp into stream in 15 minutes.
  • Always take with you power bank, as electricity in wild zones absent.

Caution

  • Beware of 'sand flies' on wild beaches — their bites strongly itch and long heal.
  • Never breed open fire in coniferous forests of Da Lat — dry needles flash instantly.
  • Clarify question of safety; on some popular wild beaches better agree with local fishermen for small payment, that they watch for things.
