What it is and why
Cable roads of Vietnam often hold world records by length and height differences. This is not simply transport from point A to point B, but full attraction: huge cabins with panoramic glazing allow to see, how changes landscape from rice fields to alpine meadows or sea smooth.
Trip on funicular is most comfortable way to rise to height, where earlier could reach only professional alpinists or enduring bikers. In such places, as Sapa or Ba Na Hills, cable road often proves only way to see all sights of complex in one day without excessive fatigue.

Tips
- Plan trip for very morning: by midday cloudiness can close overview, and at stations form queues.
- If plan trip to top (for example, to Fansipan), take with you light jacket or windbreaker — at height temperature can be 10-15 degrees lower than in valley.
- Always check weather forecast and status of work of road in applications or at official cash desks — at strong wind funiculars close for safety reasons.
- Try to be in cabin one of first or last in queue, to take place at window for best shots.
Caution
- In season of typhoons (September–December in central Vietnam) cable roads can be closed several days in row.
- People with strong fear of height worth estimate their forces: some sections pass over deep abysses with impressive angle of inclination.
