What you need to know
The temple is dedicated to Trương Hán Siêu, a key figure of the Trần dynasty (13th–14th centuries), who made an enormous contribution to organizing resistance against invaders and developing Vietnam's feudal system (the Hình Thư Code). The modern temple building was erected in 1998, but Non Nuoc Mountain itself preserves centuries of memory. Its cliffs feature over 40 carved works, including poems by Trương Hán Siêu himself and Nguyễn Trãi. Climbing the mountain involves 72 steps divided into 5 levels, and the summit offers a magnificent view of the confluence of the Day and Van rivers.
The spring season is the best time to visit, when the weather is cool and most comfortable for climbing the mountain steps.
