History
The Tay Son Tam Kiet complex is a vital memorial site located in Phu Phong township. Built in 1823 on the site of the three Nguyen brothers' home, it commemorates the 18th-century uprising that changed the destiny of Vietnam. This is a must-visit destination for history, architecture, and Vietnamese tradition enthusiasts.

What to know
The Tay Son Tam Kiet complex is a place of worship for brothers Nguyen Nhac, Nguyen Hue, and Nguyen Lu, who led the famous Tay Son uprising in 1771.
What to see on site:
- Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple: The central wooden building in Central Vietnamese architectural style, housing altars and statues of the brothers.
- Quang Trung Museum: Houses over 11,600 artifacts related to the reign of Emperor Quang Trung.
- Historical sites: An ancient well, an old tamarind tree, and the Truong Trau wharf on the Con River.
Annually, the complex becomes a focal point during traditional festivals: the uprising memorial day, the anniversary of the Battle of Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da, and Emperor Quang Trung's memorial day.
The complex is open for visits at any time, though it is most spectacular during traditional lunar calendar ceremonies.
