History
The school was founded in 1959 by the Buddhist community of Quảng Trị province. During the 81-day battle in 1972, when a massive amount of bombs equivalent to seven atomic charges was dropped on the city, the school building became a defense stronghold and practically the only surviving structure in the vicinity.

Today, the building is conserved to preserve its historical authenticity following restoration completed in 2026:
Traces of war: walls with bullet holes, bomb craters, and exposed column reinforcement.
A system of steel supports stabilizing the structure with respect for history.
A memorial altar for the fallen, located on the ground floor.
It is important to note that all inscriptions and graffiti were removed to give the site memorial status.
