What you need to know
The pagoda is located at: 151 đường Quang Trung, phường Vĩnh Thanh, thành phố Rạch Giá. The history of the temple dates back to 1504, when the first structure was erected. The modern architectural complex we see today was formed in 1884 during a large-scale reconstruction. In 2001, the site received official status as a national cultural and historical monument.
The main building is the vihara, inside which are statues of Shakyamuni Buddha, distinguished by their characteristic pointed headwear. The pagoda is active: prayer services are held here daily from 4:00 to 6:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00. The temple unites ethnic Khmer monks and Vietnamese believers, serving as an important symbol of regional unity.
