What you need to know
The museum spans an area of 20 hectares and houses over 23,000 marine specimens. Among the main exhibits are an impressive 18-meter humpback whale skeleton, rare dugong remains, and a vast collection of marine organisms in glass jars.
The aquarium complex ("miniature ocean") is particularly popular, home to predatory sharks, rays, and rare corals. The main highlight is the transparent underwater tunnel, allowing visitors to observe large marine life in their natural dynamics.
The dry season offers the most favorable conditions for visiting the exhibits and exploring the complex grounds. July is considered the low season with fewer crowds, but it is important to arrive at opening time.
