What you need to know
The pagoda was originally built in the 12th–13th centuries, later destroyed, and restored during the Tran Dynasty. Completely built of stone, the complex building (about 2,000 m²) is decorated with traditional carvings and massive wooden columns, making it an outstanding example of Southeast Asian Buddhist architecture.
Visiting the temple is often combined with climbing Non Nuoc Mountain (198 steps). At the summit stands the Nghinh Phong pavilion, offering a magnificent view of the surroundings. The Thuy Son Park area itself is an important cultural center where you can also see the Truong Han Sieu Temple and unique cliff inscriptions carved onto the mountain slopes between the 14th and 20th centuries.
