The Ngu Dong Ban On cave system, which translates to "five caves of Ban On village," is a unique natural complex that became accessible to visitors after the 2006 flood. The caves are famous for their stalactite formations, unusual acoustics (including a lithophone), and deep connection to the culture of the local Black Thai people.

What you need to know
The complex consists of five caves, representing the five natural elements: metal, water, wood, fire, and earth. Caves No. 3 and No. 4 are the most developed for tourists, while the others require more caution.
Inside, you will see whimsical stalactite and stalagmite formations resembling animals and mythical creatures. Be sure to visit Cave No. 3, home to "dan da"—stalagmites that produce melodic sounds when struck. It is always humid inside, with a temperature of 18–20 °C, making them a great refuge from the summer heat.
The dry season is the ideal time to visit. During this period, the trails are safe, and daylight penetrates the caves better. In the rainy season (May–September), visits may be difficult due to slippery roads.
