What you need to know
Restoration of the reserve's ecosystem began actively in 1978 following the war. Today, mangroves cover over 80% of its total area. It boasts incredible biodiversity: more than 150 plant species, hundreds of species of fish and mollusks, and a unique terrestrial fauna, including long-tailed macaques and various reptiles.
Visitors can enjoy boat rides through the river channels, wildlife observation, and visits to tourist sites where crocodiles can be seen. Can Gio is an ideal destination for those looking to escape the noise of Ho Chi Minh City for the peace of untouched mangrove jungles.
