The Phan Thiet Water Tower is not just an infrastructure facility, but the main architectural symbol of the region. Built in 1934 based on the design of the future President of Laos, Prince Souphanouvong, it embodies the industrial history of the city. Today, it is a recognized historical monument located in a picturesque park near the Ca Ty River, becoming a major attraction for tourists.

History
The tower was erected in 1928–1934 as part of the French urban infrastructure development plan. The project was designed by Prince Souphanouvong, who was working at the time as the chief architect in Nha Trang. Construction was carried out by the Vietnamese entrepreneur Ung Du.
Architectural features
The height of the octagonal brick tower is 32 meters. At its top is a reservoir with a capacity of 350 cubic meters.
- Decor: The letters U.E.P.T. (Phan Thiet Water Supply Station) are carved along the base of the reservoir. The ventilation windows are decorated with Chinese characters symbolizing happiness, longevity, and prosperity.
- Style: The roof is built in a traditional three-tiered style, covered with tiles.
Significance today
The tower is no longer used for its intended purpose, but it is included in the official logo of Binh Thuan province. In 2018, it received the status of a historical monument. The area around the tower has been turned into a park, which looks especially impressive in the evenings thanks to colorful LED lighting.
The dry season with minimal rainfall is ideal for walking in the park and photographing the tower.
