The Tomb of Emperor Minh Mạng is a masterpiece of 19th-century Vietnamese architecture, located 12–15 km from Huế. Built between 1840 and 1843, the complex harmoniously integrates 40 structures surrounded by lakes and pine forests, reflecting cosmological concepts of yin and yang balance.

Spanning a total area of 18 hectares, the complex is laid out along the 700-meter Thần Đạo axis. Key highlights include:
- Đại Hồng Môn — the majestic red main gate, which was opened only once to bring in the emperor's coffin.
- Stele Pavilion (Biên Đình) — houses a 20-ton stone stele inscribed with the ruler's biography.
- Trung Minh Lake and bridges — symbolize unity with nature, including a marble bridge reserved exclusively for the imperial family.
- Minh Lâu Pavilion — a two-story building embodying the concepts of heaven, earth, and water.
The entire layout resembles a person lying in repose, while the mausoleum itself (Bửu Thành) is surrounded by a restricted burial zone, preserving an aura of mystery around the site.
The dry season offers comfortable conditions for walking around the vast, open grounds of the complex.
