The stadium was built at a cost of 53 million USD and officially opened on September 2, 2003. It is the second largest stadium in Vietnam. The standard-sized football pitch (105 × 68 meters) is surrounded by a professional 8-lane running track. The arena's architecture is notable for its powerful arched roofs over the east and west stands, each weighing 2,300 tons and rising 25.8 meters high, ensuring spectator comfort in any weather. The complex covers an area of 17.5 hectares and includes training fields.
