What to know
The temple was founded in 1851, and its modern appearance took its final form in 1976. In 2012, it was officially recognized as a national historical monument of Vietnam.
The main event in the temple's life is the annual Via Ba Festival (held from the 23rd to the 27th day of the fourth lunar month), during which colorful rituals of washing the goddess's statue and Vietnamese opera performances take place. The temple's traditions run deep: many pilgrims, especially entrepreneurs from southern Vietnam, follow the custom of returning to the temple for seven consecutive years to fulfill their vows.
Peak tourist interest coincides with the annual Via Ba Festival, which follows the lunar calendar.
