Long Son Pagoda is an active religious complex and one of Nha Trang's most significant landmarks. Founded in 1886, it has survived destructive typhoons, wartime turmoil, and major restorations, becoming a symbol of the city's spiritual life today. Visiting this place allows you not only to experience Buddhist traditions but also to enjoy views of the city and the sea from the viewing platform at the foot of the famous White Buddha.

History
The temple was founded in 1886 by the monk Thich Ngo Chi under the name "Dang Long Tu". After the destructive typhoon of 1900, the complex was moved to the foot of Trai Thuy mountain, where it received its modern name Long Son ("flying dragon"). Since 1936, the pagoda has been officially recognized as the center of Buddhism in Khanh Hoa province.
What to see
- White Buddha: A monumental 14-meter statue of a seated Buddha, reached by 144 steps. Along the way at the 44th step, you can see a reclining Buddha statue.
- Main Prayer Hall: Decorated with mosaic dragons, housing a 1.6-meter bronze Buddha statue inside.
- Bell of Wishes: A place where it is traditional to make wishes.
- Memorial Area: A columbarium with the names of monks and believers.
- Garden: Picturesque fish ponds creating an atmosphere of tranquility.
It is recommended to visit in the early morning (before 9:00 AM) or closer to sunset (after 4:00 PM) to avoid the intense heat and large crowds of tourists.
