Tu Ton Pagoda (also known as the Sun Temple) is a serene oasis of calm just 300 meters from bustling Nha Trang. Founded in 1960 by Monk Thich Vien Man, it is the result of 40 years of hard work by monks and donations. This is not just a tourist attraction, but an active sanctuary where time seems to stand still among red cliffs and old trees.

What you need to know
The pagoda is located on the uninhabited Hon Do island, covering an area of 20,000 sq. m. Among the main highlights:
Main Temple:
an embodiment of traditional architecture without excessive ornamentation.
Statue of Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin):
facing the ocean, as if protecting fishermen out at sea.
Lady Ngoc Shrine:
offering a beautiful view of the Tran Phu Bridge and the Nha Trang cityscape.
The island features a natural, unembellished landscape, characteristic reddish cliffs, and a quietness that sharply contrasts with the city noise.
It is recommended to visit in the late hours before sunset: the light becomes soft, the heat subsides, and the views of Nha Trang acquire a special expressiveness.
