What you need to know
Construction of the 24-meter-tall statue was completed in 2005. The Buddha is depicted in a meditation pose on a lotus flower, holding a petal in his hand, which symbolizes the attainment of enlightenment without words (the "niêm hoa vi tiếu" philosophy). Beneath the statue is an artificial mountain with a cave populated by figures of meditating monks. The monastery grounds also include a sculpture workshop, an antiquity museum, and picturesque bonsai gardens.
