What to know
Located 12 km from Lang Son city, Bac Nga Temple is considered a sacred place where, according to legend, fairies frequently appeared. The temple's architecture is harmoniously integrated into the landscape: following feng shui principles, its hillside location by the Ky Cung River forms a "dragon meets tiger" configuration.
Inside the temple, valuable historical artifacts have been preserved, including 21 wooden blocks of Buddhist sutras from the Le dynasty. The temple is a center of spiritual life for the region, intertwining the traditions of the Tay, Nung, and Dao ethnic groups.
The main festival takes place on the 15th day of the first lunar month. This is the most atmospheric, but also the most crowded time to visit.
